City Councilor Klarissa Peña Encourages Visiting the Unser Racing Museum this Weekend

City Councilor Klarissa Peña is encouraging community members to visit the Unser Racing Museum this holiday weekend and send the museum and the family off with lots of community love and support. The Unser Racing Museum will be moving its memorabilia to the Speedway Motors Museum of American Speed in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Councilor Peña had been working to try and keep the museum in Albuquerque, but the family ultimately decided the transfer was their preferred route.

“While I am saddened to see the museum leave, I am incredibly grateful to the Unser family for providing us future opportunities to display some of their vehicles and memorabilia at the Route 66 Visitors Center,” said Councilor Peña. “The Albuquerque area has been the home to the Unser Racing Museum since 2005 and I’d like to see our community take advantage of seeing this great museum for the last time this weekend.”

Councilor Peña plans to visit the museum on Saturday, May 27 from Noon to 2:00 PM. The Unser Racing Museum is located at: 1776 Montaño Road NW, Los Ranchos de Albuquerque 87107.
