Albuquerque District 3 Councilor Klarissa J. Peña Reads on ‘Lavender Libros’ YouTube Channel

Lavender Libros is a Children’s Book Reading Program by local government and community members.

City Councilor Cynthia D. Borrego initiated the ‘Lavender Libros’ a book reading project to demonstrate care and outreach to New Mexico’s children. Government administrators and community leaders alike will read a children's book available on the 'Lavender Libros’ YouTube channel.  Melissa Sanchez, Executive Director of ABQ Westside Chamber of Commerce, is helping organize the project.

The reading broadcasts will occur every Wednesday and Friday until the State Health Order is lifted and possibly continue throughout the year on the Lavender Libros YouTube channel.

Today, Albuquerque District 3 Councilor Klarissa J. Peña, reads The Monster at the End of This Book by John Stone. 

New Mexico State Auditor Brian Colon, Albuquerque District 4 City Councilor Brook Bassan, Albuquerque District 7 City Councilor Diane Gibson, Albuquerque Bernalillo County Community Schools Executive Director Danette Townsend, and Westside Coalition of Neighborhoods President Kathy Adams as well as other guest readers will present special readings on upcoming Wednesday’s and Friday’s throughout May and into the summer months.  Every Wednesday and Friday will provide this at home opportunity to learn and lead with Lavender Libros.
