The Zoo's Lorikeet Experience transports you to an Australian forest, where you get a chance to have a close encounter with the flock of coconut lorikeets and rainbow lorikeets flitting through the trees!
From May to October at select times, guests can enter the free-flight habitat for $4 per person (children under 3 are free). Entry includes nectar to offer to these colorful and sociable parrots as you walk among them. They may choose to gather around you–or even perch ON you!–to enjoy the nutritious snack. While walking through this habitat, you'll also be able to observe blue-faced honeyeaters and laughing kookaburras.
This experience is provided by the New Mexico BioPark Society, and sales benefit the ABQ BioPark's animal residents.
From November to April the Lorikeet Experience is closed in winter. Guests may still observe the lorikeets, blue-faced honeyeaters, and kookaburras from outside.
