Resolution to Establish a New Cruising Task Force to Be Heard at Upcoming City Council Meeting

Cruising Task Force to make recommendations to Mayor and City Council

At Monday’s City Council Meeting, resolution R-17-250; creating a Cruising Task Force, will be on the agenda for Final Action. The resolution is co-sponsored by City Councilors Klarissa Peña and Isaac Benton. The Task Force will be responsible for exploring options and making recommendations to promote responsible cruising in the City of Albuquerque.

“Cruising and car culture are weaved into the way of life in Albuquerque,” said Councilor Peña, “and this Task Force can help ensure we’re doing it responsibly for everyone involved.”

The Task Force will be comprised of business owners, car club representatives, and city staff who will hold a public outreach event to solicit input from the cruising community and stakeholders.

The public is invited to attend the Council Meeting to comment on the resolution when it is heard on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 5:00 PM in the Vincent E. Griego Chambers at Once Civic Plaza, Albuquerque, NM.
