What to Bring:
The rapid hire process requires all applicants to fill out an application (computers provided and on-site support available to help) and to bring the following for the positions you would like to apply for:
- Motorcoach Operator
- Driver’s license
- Sun Van Chauffeur
- Driver’s license
- Proof of education (high school diploma or GED or successful completion of WorkKeys Skills Assessment)
- Mechanic III
- Driver’s license
- Proof of education (high school diploma or GED supplemented by two years technical training in automotive maintenance and mechanical repair and three years of experience in minor or major automotive maintenance and mechanical repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment)
- ASE Certification (preferred)
- Mechanic II
- Driver’s license
- Proof of education (high school diploma or GED and two years of technical training in automotive maintenance and mechanical repair and two years of experience in minor and major automotive maintenance and mechanical repair of a variety of vehicles and equipment)
- Paint & Body Worker
- Driver’s license
- Proof of education (high school diploma or GED)
- Two-year technical certificate or training in automotive repair and two years of vehicle restoration experience
- Transit Vehicle Servicer
- Driver’s license
- Proof of education (high school diploma or GED)
- Mechanic’s Helper
- Driver’s license
- Proof of education (high school diploma or GED supplemented by 30 credit hours vocational training in mechanical repair and one year of experience in mechanical repair)
- Transit Safety Officer, APD
- Driver’s license
- Proof of education (high school diploma or GED)
***Applicants must bring all the required materials in order to participate in the rapid hire process. You will be asked to leave and return with the required items if you do not have them upon arrival at the Hiring Event.

WorkKeys Skills Assessments
If the position that you are applying for requires proof of education and you did not complete high school, a GED, or college, you need to complete a WorkKeys Skills Assessment by choosing either of the following:
- Complete your assessment between 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the event (computers and staff support available)
- Complete your WorkKeys Assessment in advance of the event by contacting the CABQ Employee Learning Center at (505) 768-3200 or [email protected]
Commercial Driver's License
Please note that if applicants do not hold a CDL, ABQ RIDE will facilitate their training and testing free of charge to obtain a CDL for Motorcoach Operator, Vehicle Servicer, and Mechanic positions.
