Route 66 Open Space will serve as the primary parking area and trailhead for an extensive network of open Space trails throughout the Manzano/Four-Hills area and the Tijeras Bio-Zone. The Parking area was historically known as Little Beaver Town, a brief but iconic landmark on Route 66. Today, the property has a picnic area, ADA trail, educational signs, and more.

The public can further explore this area by learning about its unique environment, history, and culture through the Tijeras Creek Cultural Corridor (TCCC). This multi-jurisdictional project spans six different locations.
