DETOUR ANNOUNCEMENT: Final Work on North Diversion Channel Trail Improvements Begins

Final epoxy layer will be applied to all seven resurfaced bridges

Continued construction for seven North Diversion Channel Bridge Improvements. Final trail work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, March 17 and end Tuesday, March 24.

The work will be done in two phases, but Contractor’s detours may be in place along the entire segment at times. The project area is along the NDC Trail between Osuna and I-25, and involves installing the final surfacing layer over the recently-installed concrete bridge decks. Detours around each bridge will involve an unpaved temporary path of compacted base using the AMAFCA access road and the concrete rundown area. Only areas under construction will be detoured, and the detours will be removed once each bridge comes back online. When the detour is new, flaggers may be on site to mitigate public interaction, and bicyclists are required to dismount at transitions from paved to unpaved trail. We are again asking for bicyclists’ help and cooperation to successfully finalize the work on these facilities. Please manage your speed, dismount where asked to, and follow the detours. Most of the work is expected to be completed before the weekend, but please be aware of possible construction activities until Tuesday, March 24.

The project will be completed in two phases:

Phase 1 – Osuna to Singer

Phase 2 – Singer to I-25

We thank you for your continued patience throughout the project.
