Healing Reflection and Memorial for AIS Cemetery Event

Learn about the event hosted by the Office of Equity and Inclusion, Parks and Recreation Department to honor those who attended Albuquerque Indian School.

As important work continues to determine the next steps for the Albuquerque Indian School (AIS) Cemetery located at 4H Park, the City of Albuquerque invited the public to a healing reflection and memorial to honor those who attended AIS, and those who are buried in the cemetery. The event was hosted on Sept. 25, 2021 at the Native American Community Academy located at 1000 Indian School Rd, AlbuquerqueNM 87104.

Please note: This healing reflection and memorial event was held off-site, away from the cemetery, following the strong recommendations of spiritual leaders. The site is open for individuals and Tribes to visit, in accordance with their personal spiritual practices.
