Albuquerque Museum Opens to the Public with Health and Safety of the Community in Mind

Albuquerque Museum is pleased to announce the Museum will open to the general public on Tuesday, September 15. Safety measures will include limited capacity with physical distancing, engineering controls, administrative controls, and face masks.

Timed Admission

The reopening of Albuquerque Museum comes with changes to our admission processes. Like other cultural facilities, we will operate at a limited capacity. In order to serve our visitors, timed tickets must be booked online. All visitors, including children and Museum Members, must secure a timed ticket prior to their visit. No tickets will be sold at the Museum.

Temporarily, due to COVID-19, free days, free passes, and discounts will not be honored. 

 ADMISSION & ONLINE TICKETING

Masks

Staff and visitors Museum visitors are asked to follow the State health order requiring face masks or other face coverings to be worn. Masks will be available for purchase in the Museum Store. Exception: Children 2 years and under are not required to wear face coverings.

Safety Processes

Albuquerque Museum will reopen at 25% capacity. Vinyl markers have been installed on floors to safely space visitors. Customer barriers are installed at the admissions desk. We have removed or restricted access to interactive screens and some exhibition components. Sanitation stations and supplies are readily available. Exhibits and surfaces will be disinfected regularly throughout the day.

Food & Drink

Our cafe, Slate at the Museum, remains closed to the public until further notice.

No food or drinks are allowed in the galleries. A water bottle filling station is available in the lobby. However, water bottles are not allowed in galleries. 

Tours

Docent-led tours of the galleries, sculpture garden, and Old Town are suspended until further notice.
