City Councilor Klarissa Peña invites the Albuquerque community to join the Rally of Hearts event on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM on Civic Plaza’s Al Hurricane Pavilion. The Rally of Hearts is meant to unite family and friends with others that have lost loved ones on New Mexico roads.

The rally is to unite as one voice to help end speeding, DUI, and road rage. Over the years these issues on Albuquerque’s roads have impacted many families. The hope is that coming together as one voice can bring more awareness to our communities as all these deaths could have been prevented.

“We’ve been working to improve road safety and creating awareness campaigns like ‘Speeding Has A Name’,” said Councilor Klarissa Peña. “We want families to know that they are not alone, we are working to make a difference on our roads, and we invite the community to join us on Saturday.”

Saturday’s event will feature speakers including community members that have lost loved ones and event organizer will be providing hearts to write the name of loved ones we have lost due to speeding, DUI, and road rage to make a visual display with their names. Seeing their names will be reminder to make the right choices every time we drive.
