Mayor Keller Issues Statement on Intel’s Multi-Billion Dollar Investment

Mayor Tim Keller issued the follow statement on Intel’s $3.5 billion investment in the Albuquerque-metro area:

“Today, we welcome the announcement of Intel’s $3.5 billion investment and more good local jobs for the Albuquerque-metro area. The metro area is steadily becoming a hub for tech and skilled manufacturing and anchoring Intel’s advanced semiconductor technology here is a clear indication of that momentum. As home to the majority of Intel’s New Mexico employees, we’re grateful Albuquerque was able to provide the infrastructure and utilities to support Intel’s growth. City of Albuquerque expansions in and around Highway 528, Paseo Del Norte and Westside Blvd made development of this scale possible, and we continue to invest in and improve the commuter and ARTx links between the West Side, Downtown, and the rest of the metro area. This is a great example of successful partnerships at all levels of government, congrats Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Mayor Hull, New Mexico’s federal delegation and local leaders!” said Mayor Tim Keller.
