October 14, 2019

Today, Mayor Tim Keller announced the appointment of Danny Holcomb as Director of the Transit Department. The new Transit Director will finish bringing ART on-line, work to increase public safety on all transit routes, recruit bus drivers and put the first electric buses into operation in Albuquerque.

“Danny actually started his career in government here as a driver and worked his way up through the City,” stated Mayor Tim Keller. “Now he’s coming full circle, bringing decades of transportation experience back to the Transit Department. Danny is taking the helm at an important juncture and we look forward to moving our public transportation systems forward in key areas.”

Danny Holcomb is an Albuquerque native with nearly 30 years of transportation experience in both the public and private sectors. Danny began his government career as a driver with the City of Albuquerque Transit Department almost 25 years ago and worked his way into the management ranks in both the Transit Department and the Department of Senior Affairs. For a brief period, Danny served as the Rio Metro Transit Manager for Valencia County. He believes in being a fair and dedicated leader and is excited to return to lead the department where he started his government career. He loves spending time with his wife and daughter and enjoys all the culture Albuquerque and the state of New Mexico have to offer. Danny also believes in eating and buying local as often as possible.
