Matunda means "fruit" in Swahili, and this cafe offers a wide variety of snacks and drinks. Find the Matunda Cafe in the Africa exhibit area across from the Out of Africa gift shop and train station. The cafe has an outdoor seating area and serves soft drinks, sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, chips, candy and ice cream.

Located at the center of the Zoo, this cafe is the perfect stop for lunch or a snack. The Cottonwood Cafe is open year-round and offers an extensive menu with cafeteria-style service. It is centrally located near the duck pond and bandshell. Enjoy your food inside the cafe under intricate wood carvings of animals. Or eat on the outdoor patio in the shade of an umbrella.

The Funky Monkey
The Funky Monkey ice cream shop is a great stop for a summertime snack! Choose from soft-serve or hand-scooped ice cream in a variety of flavors. Add fun toppings or make it a sundae, if you like. You can also purchase ice-cold drinks in this shop.

The Phoenix Plaza Snackbar, near the Raptor Roost exhibit, is open during the summer and sells soft drinks, pretzels, popcorn, hot dogs, frito pie, nachos, ice cream, slushies, candy and bag chips. Restrooms, outdoor seating and a public telephone are available nearby.
The beautiful bronze sculpture at the plaza's center is Phoenix Rising from the Sun by Una Hanbury.
