Aquarium Overnight FAQs
What should I bring?
A packing list is included with the Overnight confirmation email, but all participants should bring a sleeping bag, sleeping mat, pillow, toiletries, pajamas, and flashlight.
What time should I arrive?
Check-in is from 6:30-6:45 p.m. The program will begin promptly at 7 p.m.
What time does the event end?
The program concludes at 8 a.m. the following morning.
Where should I go when I arrive?
Upon arriving, take all personal and sleeping items to the Education Building (NOT the Aquarium) for check-in.
Is food provided?
Food is not provided as part of the program and will not be available for purchase. We strongly recommend that you bring your own dinner, snacks and something to drink. All food and drinks will be restricted to the main plaza and in the “snack zone” in the Education Building. You are permitted to have personal, spill-proof water container next to you and your sleeping bag in the Aquarium. (No glass containers or alcohol permitted). The Shark Reef Café will be open for breakfast on Saturday morning (no reservations are required).
What will we do?
Free time roaming the Aquarium talking with informed volunteers, visit the touchpools, do the overnight scavenger hunt, group game show and movie marathon as the lights go out. Wake up starts at 6:30 with a final Overnight surprise before you leave at 7:30. Participants must leave the Aquarium by 8lette a.m.
Can I leave the Aquarium during the Overnight?
Once you have arrived for the evening, BioPark gates will be locked and all participants must remain on the premises. Education staff is not permitted to administer first aid so please bring any medical items you may need. Security will be present in the case of an emergency.
