Adopt-A-Stop
Help ABQ RIDE Keep Our City's Bus Stops Beautiful
The Adopt-A-Stop program mobilizes community volunteers to maintain debris and graffiti-free bus stops that enhance our public transportation experience.
ABQ Ride bus stops, nearly 3,000 in all, are located in every neighborhood throughout the City of Albuquerque. These stops provide a safe and comfortable location for bus riders as they wait for their ride. Each bus stop is a high-visibility point of connection between the City and those who live in it. These are gathering places for hundreds of people every day, and they require regular maintenance and oversight.
With the community's help, we can all help keep our community spaces clean, promote ridership, and encourage alternative/sustainable transportation options. So far, 80 bus stops have been adopted and we have many more to go! We welcome individuals, families, companies, civic groups, schools, church groups, and youth groups interested in becoming part of the Adopt-A-Stop program. Everyone benefits from this environmentally conscious program – residents, property owners, businesses, visitors, and transit riders.
Our Adopt-a-Stop volunteers are provided with everything they need to safely assist with maintaining their bus stop. These volunteers are also the eyes and ears for our transit department--they have a direct point of contact to notify when additional graffiti and litter removal assistance is required from ABQ RIDE.
