Convenience Center Rule Changes 2026
New restrictions will change the limits for certain items and vehicles at our convenience centers.
Item Limit Changes
The Solid Waste Management Department is implementing new limits on certain items coming into our convenience centers in an effort to improve disposal efficiency processes.
Tree Stumps and Limbs
- Tree Stumps may not exceed 18 inches in diameter and 18 inches in length
- Tree branches may not exceed 8 feet in length
- Loads must be limited to 3 stumps or less
- Root balls will not be accepted
Mattresses
- Customers are limited to no more than 3 mattresses per load
Pallets
- Customers are limited to no more than 5 pallets per load
- Picket fencing will be considered pallets and will be limited to the equivalent of 5 pallets
Automotive Parts
- Limit of 3 automotive parts per load
- Acceptable automotive parts:
- Bumpers
- Fenders
- Grills
- Unaccepted items:
- Engines
- Transmissions
- Bulky materials
Prohibited Items
- Roll-off containers
- Roll-off containers must be taken to the Cerro Colorado Landfill
- Artificial turf
- Railroad ties
Trailer Length Limits
- Montessa Park Convenience Center: Trailers will be limited to no more than 40 feet in length.
- Don Reservoir Convenience Center: Trailers will be limited to no more than 30 feet in length.
- Eagle Rock Convenience Center: Trailers will be limited to no more than 35 feet in length.
