Convenience Center Fee and Rule Changes 2026

The Solid Waste Management Department is updating fees, item and vehicle limits, and other rules at Convenience Centers to support more efficient disposal processes at our facilities.

Convenience Centers Fees

Standard Dumping

  • $5.00 per load (plus tax) for residents and businesses within Albuquerque city limits
  • $12.00 per load for non-residents and businesses outside of Albuquerque city limits

Unsecured Load Dumping

  • $10.54 per load for residents and businesses within Albuquerque city limits
  • $24.00 per load for non-residents and businesses outside of Albuquerque city limits

Proof of Residency

Proof of residency may be provided via utility bill, driver's license, or valid identification card.

Item Limit Changes

The Solid Waste Management Department is implementing new limits on certain items coming into our convenience centers in an effort to improve disposal efficiency processes.

Tree Stumps and Limbs

  • Tree Stumps may not exceed 18 inches in diameter and 18 inches in length
  • Tree branches may not exceed 8 feet in length
  • Loads must be limited to 3 stumps or less
  • Root balls will not be accepted

Mattresses

  • Customers are limited to no more than 3 mattresses per load

Pallets

  • Customers are limited to no more than 5 pallets per load
  • Picket fencing will be considered pallets and will be limited to the equivalent of 5 pallets

Automotive Parts

  • Limit of 3 automotive parts per load
  • Acceptable automotive parts:
    • Bumpers
    • Fenders
    • Grills
  • Unaccepted items:
    • Engines
    • Transmissions
    • Bulky materials

Prohibited Items

  • Roll-off containers
    • Roll-off containers must be taken to the Cerro Colorado Landfill
  • Artificial turf
  • Railroad ties

Trailer Length Limits

  • Montessa Park Convenience Center: Trailers will be limited to no more than 40 feet in combined length.
  • Don Reservoir Convenience Center: Trailers will be limited to no more than 30 feet in combined length.
  • Eagle Rock Convenience Center: Trailers will be limited to no more than 35 feet in combined length.

Montessa Park Convenience Center Hours Change

Effective September 28, Montessa Park Convenience Center will be changing days of operation.

Hours:

Friday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Vehicles arriving after 4:30 p.m. will not be admitted.

Saturday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Vehicles arriving after 4:30 p.m. will not be admitted.

Sunday: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Vehicles arriving after 4:30 p.m. will not be admitted.

Holidays:

Montessa Park Convenience Center will be closed only on Christmas and New Year's Day. MPCC will be open on all other holidays that fall on the normally scheduled operating days.
