Our Mission:  We are committed to providing resources with care and compassion that help our community thrive while embracing aging.

Department of Senior Affairs offers a continuum of services designed to support our community as they age. Through our mission to provide resources with care and compassion that help our community thrive while embracing aging, the Department focuses on ways to help seniors live with dignity in supportive environments, live healthy lives, and engage and contribute to the community.  The City of Albuquerque’s Department of Senior Affairs provides services for adults age 50 and older in the community, including social services, recreation and fitness programs, transportation, nutrition services and volunteer programs.

Important Notices & Updates:

  • Department of Senior Affairs Administration has moved!  Our new address is 1 Civic Plaza NW, 6th Floor, 6007; Albuquerque, NM 87102.  
  • As the New Mexico State mask mandate has been suspended, when visiting our centers, masks are optional however, we still will encourage doing the most to protect yourself and others around you. 

  • In all of our transportation vehicles, effective immediately, Department of Senior Affairs will no longer require masks while riding on-board transportation vehicles.  Please note, while masks are no longer required, CDC guidance strongly recommends wearing masks when utilizing public transportation vehicles.

  • We are Open!  All 50+ Sports and Fitness, Senior and Multigenerational Centers are open for full operations. For more information or details about our class schedules, hours of operations, or activities, please contact your center directly or call our Senior Information Line at 505-764-6400.  You can download the current 50+ Sports & Fitness Activities Schedule here

Senior Affairs Transportation Program Expanded! The City of Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs Transportation program is a curb to curb service offered to adults 60 years and older in the Albuquerque, and surrounding Bernalillo County area. These services include transportation to medical appointments, non medical errands, and limited mile-radius transportation to all City of Albuquerque senior and multigenerational centers, as well as select satellite senior meal sites. To request transport services, please call 505-764-6464.

Senior Affairs is now accepting online donations! Your donation could help provide recreation opportunities, meals, home services, transportation, care coordination, information and more to seniors throughout Bernalillo County. Donate here.

The ABQ Veterans Ride Initiative has expanded the number of accepted identification forms that allow veterans to ride all City of Albuquerque Transit systems for free. Click here to view the accepted forms of identification. Those wishing to use SunVan services must still qualify and follow all reservation rules.
