Man Charged in overnight Homicide

ALBUQUERQUE – APD detectives have arrested and charged Miguel Angel Gomez, 29, in the homicide that occurred on the evening of December 19th, 2021.
Officers were dispatched to the area of 60th and Churchill shortly after 6:00p.m. on Sunday December 20, 2021 for a shooting call. The caller stated they witnessed an individual pushed out of vehicle and it appeared they had been shot.
The individual who succumbed to his injuries was identified as a 29 year-old male.
Gomez was located shortly after the shooting and through an investigation it was determined that he shot Mr. Castellano.
Gomez has been charged with an Open Count of Murder in the First Degree and Tampering with Evidence. He remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center.
