UPDATE: Fatal Motorcycle Crash Investigation

ALBUQUERQUE – APD’s Motor Unit responded overnight to Lomas Blvd NE and Hotel Cir NE in response to a fatal crash.

Upon arrival, officers learned a black Yamaha Motorcycle was eastbound on Lomas at a high rate of speed. Officers also learned a white sedan pulled out from Hotel Cir to make a westbound turn onto Lomas. The motorcycle locked up its brakes and began to skid, the motorcycle went down on the left side. The motorcycle and rider separated, it doesn’t appear the motorcycle struck the vehicle but it did appear the rider did.

At this time, it appears speed was a factor, unknown if alcohol was a factor. This is an ongoing investigation.
