APD’s Sex Crimes Unit Arrests Offender for Rape, Aggravated Battery and Child Abuse

The Albuquerque Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit has arrested Gideon Michael Robles, 35 on multiple charges including Rape, Aggravated Battery and Child Abuse.

ALBUQUERQUE – The Albuquerque Police Department’s Sex Crimes Unit has arrested Gideon Michael Robles, 35 on multiple charges including Rape, Aggravated Battery and Child Abuse.

On Saturday October 15, 2022 APD’s Sex Crimes Unit was called to an apartment in the NE. The victim stated her boyfriend, identified as Gideon Michael Robles wanted to have intercourse with her, upon initially consenting, the female stated she wanted Robles to stop. Detectives were told Robles then became violent, throwing and hitting the female then strangling her until she lost consciousness.

The female stated when she regained consciousness, Robles strangled her again. When she tried calling for help she noticed he had broken her phone and the bedroom had been doused with gasoline and bleach. While this was occurring an infant child was present inside the apartment.

The female was able to get away and knocked on a neighbor’s door for help and during this time, Robles fled from the scene.

Robles was out on probation wearing an ankle monitor and after obtaining an arrest warrant, detectives with the Investigative Services Unit were able to apprehend him.

Robles has been booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center on the following charges, Criminal Sexual Penetration, Aggravated Battery Against a Household Member Via Strangulation (x2), Child Abuse Endangering Child’s Health and Safety, and Tampering with Evidence.
