ALBUQUERQUE – APD auto theft detectives working an anti-crime operation in Downtown Albuquerque tracked an occupied stolen vehicle on Saturday as occupants stole more than 100 items from stores across the city.

Detectives located the vehicle leaving the area. The vehicle was followed to the Home Depot business located at 200 Eubank SE. A female driver, identified as Janelle Delayo, exited the stolen vehicle and entered the business. Three additional occupants were observed inside of the vehicle. They took turns entering the business. Surveillance was conducted inside Home Depot where items were shoplifted and the individuals once again occupied the stolen vehicle and left the area.

A male identified as Frankie Snyder drove the stolen vehicle from the Home Depot business. The vehicle was followed to the Walgreens business at Eubank and Menual, where the subjects are suspected of shoplifting items.

Snyder drove to the CVS business located across the street at 9640 Menaul Blvd NE. Delayo entered the store and shoplifted numerous items while Snyder stayed inside the stolen vehicle. Detectives were informed Delayo was in possession of a taser and that when they began to exit the store, she activated the taser sound when confronted by employees.

The vehicle was followed to the downtown area McDonalds located at 1523 4Th St SW. Detectives conducted a high-risk traffic stop utilizing a marked unit and spike belted the vehicle as it fled the traffic stop. The vehicle drove a few blocks north where it was found abandoned near 2nd St SW and Santa Fe Ave SW. All occupants fled the vehicle on foot. Air 2 was logging on to the Downtown Tact Plan and responded to the scene. Delayo and Snyder were located by air support as they attempted to walk out of the neighborhood onto 4th Street and Hazeldine Ave SW. Detectives and officers conducted a high-risk felony stop and both subjects were taken into custody without incident.

During the recovery of the stolen vehicle, more than 100 items were found throughout the vehicle in department packaging including numerous security theft tags. A taser was found inside of the vehicle on the passenger floorboard.
