APD searching for Four Hills Studios murder suspect

May 27, 2022

ALBUQUERQUE -- APD detectives identified Tayven Lee White, 22, as the suspect in this week’s shooting death of a man at the Four Hills Studios.

Detectives are searching for White, who is charged with an open count of murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The victim has been identified as Charles Carter, 40.

Police responded on May 20, 2022, to a report of a deceased individual in apartment #114 of Four Hills Studios, located at 12901 Central Ave. N.E. Responding officers were familiar with the apartment because they responded to a shooting there a week earlier. The apartment was known to be a hub for the sale of Fentanyl pills, according to witnesses.

White and another man had been in an argument with Carter on Sunday because they blamed him for being physically abuse toward White’s sister. After the Carter refused to leave the apartment, witnesses said White shot Carter several times before fleeing on foot.
