ALBUQUERQUE – The Albuquerque Police Department responded today at noon to a bomb threat directed against the Adat Yeshua Messianic Synagogue, located at 529 Jefferson St., N.W. APD’s bomb squad did not locate any explosive devices.

APD’s Emergency Communications Center was alerted to the threat that had been reported to a New Mexico crisis hotline. A male said he was on site and had a bomb in a back pack. Field officers arrived as the building was being evacuated.

APD’s Bomb squad arrived and received updated information through 911 that the suspect was inside the main room with a backpack and a bomb, but the patrons and rabbi said nobody was inside or suspicious when they exited.

The bomb squad located a backpack in the main lobby room, but it ended up being a medic bag upon further inspection. No bombs or other suspicious items were located.
