APD Releases Results from Weekend Operation in Downtown
Units from across the department are working with officers in the Downtown Public Safety District to crack down on criminal behavior during weekends this summer.

APD released results from the third weekend of its Downtown Operation. Units from across the department are working with officers in the Downtown Public Safety District to crack down on criminal behavior during weekends this summer.
Here are the results of this past weekend’s operation, which lasted Friday through Sunday:
- 175 moving citations
- 9 cites for modified exhaust
- 1 cites for exhibition of speed
- 25 reports
- 6 DWI's
- 9 towed vehicles
- 4 fights responded
- 4 verbal warning
- 5 medical transports
- 14 Miscellaneous Arrests
Since the start of the Downtown Operation, officers have made more than 300 contacts with individuals congregating in parking lots. Additionally contact has been made with dozens of individuals who were exercising open carry.
The Downtown Operation provides seven-day a week coverage with a zero tolerance policy.
