APD Looking for 18-Year-Old Accused of Aggravated Battery with A Deadly Weapon near UNM Campus

The Albuquerque Police Department is looking for Andres Lorenzo Martinez, 18, for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon for an incident that occurred near UNM’s campus.

ALBUQUERQUE – The Albuquerque Police Department is looking for Andres Lorenzo Martinez, 18, for Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon for an incident that occurred near UNM’s campus.

On January 25, 2023 an alert was issued from the university regarding a suspected carjacking. A clear photo of the offender was shared publicly assisting in identifying the individual. Through further investigation by APD’s newly created Investigative Enhancement Division, it was determined the incident was not a carjacking but actually a road rage incident. Following this incident Martinez assaulted a 55-year-old man by striking him with a firearm.

APD has issued a warrant for Martinez’s arrest on charges of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon.
