ALBUQUERQUE – Detectives with APD’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit recovered several firearms today as they investigated an overnight shooting in Northwest Albuquerque.

The shooting took place during a large party at 10635 Fountain Ct N.W. Four people who were at the party suffered gunshot wounds to their legs, although none of the injuries were life-threatening. Gunfire also struck several homes and vehicles in the neighborhood. There were no reports of injuries at those homes.

“This is the second time in as many months that large house parties resulted in a barrage of gunfire,” APD Police Chief Harold Medina said. “Our detectives have identified several people involved, and they will work with the District Attorney’s Office to pursue charges against those who are responsible.”

APD has advocates for victims of violent crimes, including domestic violence and sex crimes. Victims, including family of homicide victims, can call 505-924-6028 to reach one of the advocates. Victim advocates can also be reached by email: [email protected].
