APD investigating serious-injury shooting in SE ABQ

UPDATE: The victim has died as a result of his wounds. Homicide detectives will take over the investigation.

ALBUQUERQUE – APD officers are investigating a shooting on Charleston St., just north of Central Ave.

Residents in the area called 911 shortly before noon today to reports shots being fired. One caller reported finding a man on the ground who was in distress.

Officers arrived and located a man with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

Detectives have been called to the scene to start an investigation.
