APD Investigating Overnight Shooting

On October 11, 2023, at approximately 9:50 PM, officers in the Northwest area command, were promptly dispatched to the 6000 block of Canis Ave NW in response to reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers encountered an individual who exhibited signs of a gunshot wound. The victim died as a result of her injuries at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
