June 11, 2019
APD homicide detectives solved a gruesome 2017 murder in which 39-year-old Audra Willis was stabbed to death and found decapitated in an arroyo in Four Hills.
Detectives issued arrest warrants this week for Andrew Garcia, Eric Emerson and Damaris Marquez for the murder.
Officers in the Southeast Area Command arrested Emerson, 30 and known as “Smokey,” on Monday. He was booked for tampering with evidence. The same Southeast team arrested Garcia, 31 and known as “Two Feathers,” on an open count of murder. Marquez, 33, was arrested by detectives on Tuesday for tampering with evidence.
“This has been a long and arduous investigation, but the lead detective was persistent and never gave up,” APD Deputy Chief Art Gonzalez said. “Every victim matters. We want justice for Audra Willis.”
