ALBUQUERQUE – APD officers responded to two separate shootings overnight that resulted in one death and two critically injured victims. One of the injured victims is not expected to survive. There is no indication at this time that the shootings were connected.

 

Menaul and University

Northeast officers were dispatched at 12:42 a.m. to the intersection on Menaul Blvd. and University Blvd. NE to respond to an individual who was shot in the head. The victim was taken to UNMH by ambulance. The victim was later found to have no brain activity. Initial video from a nearby business captured a white pickup truck involved in the shooting.

 

7817 Central Ave NE

Southeast officers were dispatched at 12:50 a.m. to reports of a shooting at 7817 Central Ave NE (Adam Food Market.) Officers arrived on scene and located two male subjects who both had what appeared to be gunshot wounds. One male died on scene and the other male was transported to the hospital. This incident is still under investigation.
