ALBUQUERQUE – APD detectives arrested a woman overnight and charged her for the murder of a man inside a room at an east Downtown motel. Police are searching for another man who is believed to have participated in the murder on Tuesday.

The victim’s next of kin has not yet been located. Detectives ask that his name not be publicly released until that notification can be made.

Detectives later tracked down Angel Salazar near another hotel, less than a mile from the murder scene at the Days Inn, located at 615 Central Ave., N.E. There was a bloody trail that led about from the motel room for about 100 feet to a nearby street.

Salazar, 38, was seen with the male suspect approaching the victim at the motel around 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday.

They approached the victim, who was sitting and smoking outside the motel room, and followed him inside the motel room. The male suspect can be seen putting brass knuckles on his left hand as he walked into the room.

After about 30 minutes, the two suspects are seen exiting the room. A significant amount of blood can be observed covering the male’s left arm from his hand to his elbow. The female exits the room immediately behind the male. The female’s right hand is covered in blood.

After officers detained Salazar, she requested medical treatment for Fentanyl withdrawal and a laceration to her finger. Detectives attempted to interview her, but she declined to make any statements.

She was booked into the Metro Detention Center on an open count of murder, conspiracy and tampering with evidence.

Anyone with information about the male suspect is asked to call 505-842-COPS.
