ALBUQUERQUE – The Albuquerque Police Department Organized Crime Unit has arrested Celina Cordova, 39, an offender on the Top 10 Shoplifting Offenders list.

On April 18, detectives with Organized Crime and the Burglary Unit located a vehicle at the Walmart along Menaul Blvd. NE, known to be driven by Cordova. Cordova had several misdemeanor and felony warrants out for her arrest and is a serial shoplifter known to steal from Walmart, Home Depot, and Target locations throughout the city.

Detectives saw Cordova on the morning of April 18 leaving the Walmart along Menaul pushing a cart full of items she had not paid for. Cordova then began loading the unpaid merchandise into her vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle and Cordova was taken into custody without incident.

Cordova was booked on her outstanding warrants, several additional charges are pending and her vehicle was sealed as detectives await a search warrant.

APD’s Top 10 Shoplifting Offenders list is a part of the department’s initiative to flag prolific offenders in specific crimes to assist the District Attorney’s Office in successful prosecution.
