APD arrests beauty supply business owner for drug trafficking

ALBUQUERQUE – The Albuquerque Police Department has arrested Juan Ramon Luevano following an undercover drug operation.
The Central Narcotics Unit has been conducting an ongoing undercover Fentanyl investigation into Luevano. With the assistance of the DEA, and DEA TFO's, several undercover narcotics purchases were conducted on separate occasions seizing approximately 7,000 Fentanyl pills.
During this investigation Luevano, who owns Chennelle’s Beauty Supply in the Southwest Area Command was surveilled by detectives at numerous locations throughout the Northeast, Valley, and Southwest Area Commands.
Central Narcotics detectives, along with the assistance of DEA, DEA TFO's, Southeast officers and the Gun Violence Suppression Unit, a warrant was served on Luevano’s home and investigators conducted a buy bust operation at a location along Alameda where he was taken into custody.
The results of the buy bust and subsequent search warrant yielded the following evidence seizures:
- AR-15 Rifle loaded (found in vehicle)
- 3,000 Fentanyl Pills
- Drug trafficking paraphernalia
- $20,000.00 cash
- 10 Lbs. of Marijuana
- Heroin
- 9mm handgun parts
- Ammunition
Luevano was arrested and charged federally for Drug Trafficking and firearm related offenses. He was booked into the federal holding facility in Cibola County.
