APD Arrests ALeRT Offender for 2021 Homicide

Digital Intelligence Team uncovers offender

May 5, 2022

ALBUQUERQUE – The Albuquerque Police Department has arrested Samuel Jackson, 29, for the homicide of Frank Brown, 46 in March of 2021.

On March 4, 2021 officers were called to the Imperial Inn Motel on Central Avenue for reports of shots fired. When they arrived they located a male who’d been shot and was deceased.

While Brown was walking to his car from one of the rooms at the Motel, witnesses say a car pulled up and a male and female got out. They say the two demanded items from Brown in an attempt to rob him when shots were fired.

The female offender, identified as Jaeline Miera was arrested for a separate homicide on March 17, 2021. Through that investigation, her cell phone was collected as evidence.

In March of 2022, APD’s newly created Digital Intelligence Team identified an individual “Jackson” who Miera was texting with around the time of the homicide, as Samuel Jackson. Through Jackson’s digital footprint, DIT identified places he’d visited in March including the Imperial Inn Motel. On the night of the homicide in 2021, Jackson’s phone registered its location at the Imperial Inn.

Upon an interview with detectives, Jackson admitted to being present at the time of the homicide and that he had a silver .32 caliber Taurus firearm that he said was stolen days after the homicide.

On Thursday May 5, 2022, Jackson was arrested and booked into the Metropolitan Detention Center, he’s been charged with Murder, Armed Robbery and Conspiracy.

Jackson has frequently been listed as one of APD’s ALeRT offenders.
