ALeRT Offender Arrest: Michael Garcia

Albuquerque Police Department officers arrested Michael Garcia, 44, for Battery Upon a Peace Office and Criminal Trespassing.

ALBUQUERQUE – Albuquerque Police Department officers arrested Michael Garcia, 44, for Battery Upon a Peace Office and Criminal Trespassing.

Mr. Garcia is an ALeRT offender who was identified by a multi-agency program that tracks offenders who continuously commit crimes in the community.

On 010/12/2021 an APD Officer was dispatched to Frontier Restaurant located at 2400 Central Ave SE reference a Battery. Officers spoke with victim and advised officers she was approached by Michael Garcia, who was hostile with her. He then pushed the victim in her face and took off. Another officer down the road advised Mr. Garcia interfered with another investigation at the Dunkin Donuts and attempted to take a shopping cart full of items belonging to their subject. Mr. Garcia was asked to be removed from the property as he was continuously trespassing in the area. When told to leave the property Michael Garcia threw his cup of coffee at officers hitting one in the face. Mr. Garcia was then arrested for Battery upon a Peace Officer and Criminal Trespassing

Mr Garcia. has 3 Felony arrests including Residential Burglary, Criminal Damage, Leaving the Scene of an accident resulting in GBH/Death, Unlawful Taking of a MV, Theft of Identity, Receiving Stolen Property.

Mr. Garcia has been booked into Metropolitan Detention Center. He will appear before a Metropolitan Court Judge in the near future.

As part of the Analysis-Led Recidivism Team (ALeRT), the Albuquerque Police Department collaborates with the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, Rio Rancho Police Department, New Mexico State Police, New Mexico Probation & Parole, the FBI and the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office to achieve a high rate of prosecution in addressing community concerns of crime and disorder.
