APD is currently led by Chief of Police Cecily Barker.  Chief Barker is a lifelong Albuquerque resident whose leadership is rooted in service, accountability, and community trust. With experience spanning patrol, investigations, and field operations, she brings a collaborative, evidence-based approach to public safety. Chief Barker values integrity, officer development, and compassionate policing, with a strong commitment to protecting victims and strengthening community partnerships.
