Maloof Air Park
Hours of Operation
7am - 4pm
Attention: The Maloof Airfield will be undergoing runway improvements and will be temporarily closed starting May 31, 2022 through June 6th, 2022. The Open Space Division of the Parks and Recreation Department will have construction crews on-site at Maloof Airfield to make improvements to your beautiful runway and areas around it. This construction is scheduled to take a week and the runway and the entire park must be closed for everyone’s safety. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope you enjoy the upgraded runway when construction is complete, anticipated on or around June 6th.

George J. Maloof Memorial Air Park is a safe and convenient facility for the use of remote control airplanes, control line airplanes, helicopters, and cars.
Facilities
Located on the West Mesa overlooking Albuquerque, the Park offers the following facilities:
- 800-foot paved runway
- Helicopter area with three 10 ft x 10 ft landing pads
- Control line field for 1/2A through ABC planes (70-foot circle)
- Large shaded area with tables
- Barbecue grills
- Water
- Bathrooms
- Parking
Flying at Maloof Air Park
The helicopter site uses the same frequency control as the fixed wing runway, so please "pin up" before turning on your transmitter anywhere on the field.
Maloof Air Park is open to all remote control and control line modelers who adhere to the rules and regulations of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA).
