Urban Biology Division Manager Nick Pederson.

Nick has been with the City since 2007, when he started as an Environmental Health Specialist focused on urban wildlife. He helped develop the City’s coexistence-based wildlife management strategies for reducing conflict with wildlife in and around our neighborhoods.

In addition to working with urban wildlife, as Urban Biology Division Manager he oversees the City of Albuquerque-Bernalillo County vector control program, which includes insect and rodent-borne disease surveillance as well as mosquito control measures.

Nick has lived in Albuquerque since childhood. He is a graduate of Eldorado High School and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of New Mexico. In his free time, Nick enjoys time outdoors, travel, and birding.
