Local Agriculture Community Coordinator Stefany Olivas.

 Stefany Olivas is a Bernalillo native, and food-systems advocate in Albuquerque for over 10 years. She began working with school gardens, community gardens, and local farms in 2012, where the individuals behind grassroots initiates provided mentorship, expertise, and inspiration for her academic and professional career pathways. She has three degrees from University of New Mexico that include a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Bachelor of Arts in Chicano/a Studies, and Master of Science in Geography and Environmental Studies. She began as the Local Agriculture Community Coordinator with City of Albuquerque Open Space Division in 2023. The Open Space Division partners with local farmers and organizations to manage and support Open Space Farmlands at 5 different locations in Albuquerque. Additionally, her role is to understand how the city can better support agricultural initiatives, community-gardens, and school gardens throughout the city.
