Volunteer Fest Brings Community Together to Give Back
Discover your next way to make a difference at this free, all-ages City event.
The City of Albuquerque’s Office of Civic Engagement hosts second Civic Connections Volunteer Fest. This event will once again bring together residents, City departments, and local nonprofits for an afternoon of community connection and service. The event takes place Friday, October 24, 2025, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Albuquerque Museum and is free and open to all ages.
Building on April’s successful inaugural event, Volunteer Fest continues to celebrate civic engagement by helping attendees find volunteer opportunities that match their interests, skills, and schedules. More than 30 City departments and local nonprofit partners will participate, offering residents a one-stop opportunity to discover ways to give back and make a difference in Albuquerque.
To recognize the tremendous impact of volunteers citywide, the event will feature a raffle, activities, and networking spaces for volunteers, community members, and coordinators to share ideas and experiences that strengthen community-led initiatives. Attendees can also learn more about the Civic Connections Ambassadors program and explore new ways to help shape Albuquerque’s vibrant future.
In FY 2024, volunteers dedicated 618,771 hours of service, generating an estimated $16.9 million in economic impact across City programs. These contributions reflect the essential role volunteers play in supporting City services and enhancing life throughout Albuquerque.
The event will also feature interactive breakout sessions, including:
- Using the One Albuquerque Volunteer Site – Led by Rachael Hernandez
- How Civic Engagement Supports Nonprofits – Led by Mariah Harrison
- Recruiting and Working with Youth Volunteers – Led by Aubree Silva
- Live Podcast Recording – The ABQ Accent: A Panel on Volunteer Connections
