Mayor Keller Issues Statement on Albuquerque’s Move into ‘Turquoise’ Category, Lifting further COVID Restrictions in the City

Mayor Tim Keller released the following statement regarding the Department of Health’s latest update on the COVID-19 Red to Turquoise Framework:

“Our community’s quick progress into the next phase of re-opening is welcome news. We are excited to see more folks able to support our local businesses and have a summer where friends and family are able to gather for some of our favorite activities like cheering on the Isotopes and United, holding family reunions in our parks and open spaces, and enjoying live music.”

“We all have to keep our eye on the end goal. What we’re working towards together is a date in the near future when the majority of the state has been vaccinated against this virus. When we know that our community’s health is protected and all restrictions can be lifted from our local businesses and civic spaces. That’s our goal, and it will take all of us doing our part, getting the vaccine, and making safe choices to get there.”
