Albuquerque Invests in Proven Programs to Help Residents in Need
The announcement is a continued investment in efforts to reduce homelessness, expand treatment, and connect residents to housing and essential services
ALBUQUERQUE— The City of Albuquerque Department of Health, Housing and Homelessness has announced the contract awards resulting from Request for Proposal (RFP) 2025-734-RM, which sought qualified nonprofit partners to continue delivering critical behavioral health, homelessness, youth, and family support services throughout the community.
“These investments reflect the City’s commitment to meeting residents where they are and ensuring families, youth, and vulnerable community members have access to compassionate, effective support,” says Gilbert Ramirez, Health, Housing and Homelessness Director. “We are proud to partner with organizations that bring proven experience and deep community trust to this work.”
Awards include:
- University of New Mexico Hospital Young Children’s Health Center- Young Children’s Hospital Center for domestic violence outreach, prevention, and intervention services in the amount of $260,901, as well as prevention and early intervention programming for children and adolescents in the amount of $269,524.
- Enlace Comunitario for culturally-specific case management services for survivors of domestic violence in the amount of $214,099.
- Explora Science Center and Children’s Museum of Albuquerque to operate a STEAM-focused teen center offering education, workforce development, and wraparound supports in the amount of $220,000.
- Youth Development, Inc. for intensive case management services in the amount of $250,000 and school-based substance use outpatient treatment for middle school youth in the amount of $288,000. YDI is the new provider for intensive case management; these services were provided by another organization in FY26.
- Heading Home for supportive housing and case management for individuals experiencing homelessness with behavioral health diagnoses in the amount of $480,000.
- PB&J Family Services for crisis services to children experiencing abuse, neglect, or abandonment in the amount of $100,000.
- Roadrunner Food Bank for food distribution services to low-to-moderate income residents and people experiencing homelessness in the amount of $225,680.
- First Nations Community Health for behavioral health services serving Albuquerque’s urban Native American populations in the amount of $193,800.
- Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless for case management tied to the City/County Community Connections Supportive Housing Program in the amount of $165,000.
Awarded agencies will continue providing services in Fiscal Year 2027, with Youth Development, Inc. (YDI) assuming the role of intensive case management provider.
