Summer Teen Nights Wrap With a Splash!

This summer, teens across Albuquerque have shown up and shown out for Friday Teen Nights: a series of free themed events hosted by the City of Albuquerque’s Youth & Family Services Department offering teens ages 12-18 a fun, safe space to gather with friends, try new activities, and enjoy free food on select Friday nights.

So far this summer’s lineup has included:

• Arts & Crafts Night at Mesa Verde Community Center, with glow-in-the-dark painting, polymer clay jewelry, ceramic art, and henna from talented local instructors.
• Roller Skate & Mini Golf Night, where teens enjoyed skating and games in a high-energy setting thanks to Throwback Roller Skating & Entertainment.
• Sports, Games & Karaoke Night at North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center, featuring rock climbing, karaoke, a GaGa ball pit, and pizza.

"We're committed to creating safe, fun ways for our young people to connect, grow, and just be kids,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “These teen nights are a great example of how we invest in the well-being of our youth and build stronger communities."

As the season winds down, excitement is building for the final and biggest event yet — the Summer Teen Pool Party! This grand finale is expected to bring together more than 200 teens for a night of swimming, music, games, and food to celebrate summer’s end.

• Teen Pool Party - Friday July 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Rio Grande Pool, 1410 Iron Ave SW.

Teen Nights have been made possible through partnerships between Youth & Family Services, Warehouse 505, and Throwback Roller Skating & Entertainment. We've also collaborated with city departments and talented local instructors who not only support Teen Nights but also offer free ceramics, henna, and polymer clay classes at community centers citywide.
