How it’s Made: ABQ BioPark’s Famous Apple Cider!

In this video, hear from the Heritage Farm curator as he guides you step-by-step through the BioPark cider pressing process.

September 26, 2026

It’s that time of year when the Heritage Farm team is gearing up for cider pressing season! In the days leading up to Harvest Festival, they harvest and press about 1,000 pounds of apples into the crisp, irresistible apple cider we’ve come to know and love.

Learn how it’s made in this video as we take you behind-the-scenes into the Cider Barn where the farm team works their magic to bring guests this coveted fall treat, available only during Harvest Festival (Saturday, Oct. 3 - Sunday, Oct. 4) at the the BioPark Botanic Garden & Aquarium.

“We’re so excited to bring you this apple cider because it takes such hard work and dedication from our team here at the BioPark,” said Heritage Farm curator Colin Findley. “We hear it’s the best cider around, so please enjoy.”

During the Harvest Festival, Cider will be available while supplies last at the following Garden & Aquarium locations including:

  • Shark Reef Cafe
  • Wildflower Cafe
  • Showroom
  • Festival Green
  • Vitex Plaza
  • High Desert Rose Garden
  • Heritage Farm
