University of New Mexico requests a modification to their air quality permit in Application Permit Number 1881-M1

The applicant is requesting a modification to Permit No. 1881.

The applicant requests to replace the permitted diesel-fired emergency generator/internal combustion engine with a new emergency engine. This backup generator’s main function is to provide backup power to support operations in the event that primary power is interrupted.
Requests 200 hours of operation per year. The generator will only be operated during the unavoidable loss of commercial power or during required maintenance/exercising.
