Older Americans Act Advisory Council

About the Council

The council shall advise the Area Agency on Aging relative to the following:

• Developing and administering the “Area Plan”
• Conducting public hearings
• Representing the interests of older persons
• Reviewing and commenting in all community policies, programs and actions that affect older persons with the intent of assuring maximum coordination and responsiveness to older persons, and
• Reviewing and commenting on Area Plans and amendments submitted to the State Agency on Aging for approval to conduct programs and services within the County.

Council Meeting Information

The council meets the second Monday in January, April, July, and October from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Subject to change: Please check the next agenda to confirm meeting time and location.

July meetings are typically held at the Village of Tijeras Senior Center (10 Tijeras Ave, Tijeras). Other meetings are typically held at the AAA office.

The October 16, 2023 meeting with be held at 2 p.m. in the Area Agency on Aging office, 700 4th SW, Suite A, Albuquerque.
