About the Council
The council shall advise the Area Agency on Aging relative to the following:
- Developing and administering the “Area Plan”
- Conducting public hearings
- Representing the interests of older persons
- Reviewing and commenting in all community policies, programs and actions that affect older persons with the intent of assuring maximum coordination and responsiveness to older persons, and
- Reviewing and commenting on Area Plans and amendments submitted to the State Agency on Aging for approval to conduct programs and services within the County.
Council Meeting Information
The next meeting will be held Monday, April 13, 2026 at 2 p.m. at the Highland Senior Center (131 Monroe St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108).
The council typically meets the second Monday in January, April, July, and October from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Dates and times are subject to change: Please check the next agenda to confirm meeting time and location.
