Reptile Team Wins City Award for Safety

Award is given quarterly to to individuals or work sections.

Nov. 24, 2020 - The ABQ BioPark's reptile team was recently awarded with the City of Albuquerque Safety Culture Award, a quarterly recognition given to individuals or work sections that have outstanding contributions to the safety of their environment. The ABQ BioPark's reptile department was one of two city departments to receive the honor this November.

Reptile team members Keith Crow, Richard Reams, Josh Butler, Phil Mayhew and Landie Romero were recognized with an award certificate and a $100 gift card each.

A few of the safety protocols that helped the reptile team win the award are establishing new safety wall stations with first aid kits, eyewash kits and emergency procedures; and placing new safety boxes with leather gloves, goggles, safety glasses, hearing protection and dust masks throughout the work area.

Congratulations to our reptile team on the good work!
