City Asks for Input on Broadband and Technology Access

Technology Access Survey will inform connection needs in Albuquerque and help close digital divide.

February 6, 2023

The need for quality internet access is more essential than ever, with people teleworking, students attending school online, patients meeting doctors virtually, and businesses providing online services. The City’s Broadband Office is asking community members and businesses to participate in a survey about technology access to help the City understand changing needs and fill gaps in access.

The survey asks whether internet is available to a household and if so, how the connection to the internet is accessed, and how it is used. The goal is to learn what internet and technology services residents are using, what they may be lacking, and why.

“Direct input from the community is a critical part of ensuring we have the data and information we need to provide the best outcomes from new and existing services,” said Catherine Nicolaou, Broadband Office Manager. “We know that fast, reliable, and affordable internet is essential to the quality of life of everyone in Albuquerque, and every response to the survey will help us in our work to close the digital divide.”

To participate, visit the Broadband Office website at cabq.gov/broadband.

The survey takes only a few minutes to complete and provides the City with valuable information to help it best serve Burqueños. Please limit participation to one person per household.

The survey will be available through March 16, 2023.
