Senior Picnic Brings Community Together

More than 200 seniors, families and community members enjoyed a day of music, food and connection.

The Department of Senior Affairs' annual Senior Picnic was filled with laughter, music and community as more than 200 older adults, families and community members gathered at the Santa Barbara Martineztown Multigenerational Center on Friday, July 17.

Guests enjoyed a lively afternoon featuring music by Paul Pino and the Tone Daddies, dancing, raffle prizes, lunch and opportunities to connect with friends—both new and familiar. Albuquerque City Councilor Joaquín Baca also joined the celebration, welcoming attendees and spending time with seniors throughout the event.

Events like the Senior Picnic highlight the importance of staying socially connected while celebrating the many contributions older adults make to our community. Whether enjoying live entertainment, sharing a meal or simply spending time together, participants helped create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for everyone in attendance.
